Deep Tissue Massage
The Deep tissue massage focuses on rearranging deeper tissue layers of the muscles and connective tissues. This type of massage uses many of the same techniques as the Swedish massage, such as long strokes and kneading motions. The movements are slow and the pressure is usually deep. The Deep tissue massage is especially useful for persistently tense muscles, such as a stiff neck, lower back stiffness and sore shoulders. It is used for therapy and rehabilitation and recommended for conditions such as chronic pain, limited mobility, muscle tension or spasm or quick recovery from injuries. During a deep tissue massage, you might feel some discomfort as the massage therapist applies pressure on tense muscles.
